Recap: »Experience Tissue Donation« Open-Air in Hanover

Largest education project on tissue donation and many visitors at the »Experience Tissue Donation« Open-Air in June

What is tissue donation? How can this topic be made tangible? And what needs to be done to improve patient care with tissue transplants in the future?

These questions were addressed by an outdoor exhibition held from May 30 to June 13 at Hannah-Arendt-Platz in Hannover. How tissue donation can be promoted even more strongly was discussed on June 02 at the »Experience Tissue Donation« Open-Air in stage discussions with the moderator Dr. Carola Holzner (Doc Caro) and at a press conference with, among others, the Lower Saxony Minister for Social Affairs, Health and Equality, Daniela Behrens. The result: tissue donation not only became the talk of the town. Even beyond the Hannover city limits, the need for altruistic tissue donation is now on the radar of media and influencers.

The photography exhibition »Experience Tissue Donation«, which has already won the German Design Award and Silver Nail of the Art Directors Club, was made accessible to a large public for the first time from May 30 to June 13 at Hannah-Arendt-Platz. A high-profile exhibition had not been possible before because of the Corona pandemic. The photographs from the same named, joint project of Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and DGFG had until then been shown exclusively in clinics as a poster exhibition.

The motifs printed on banners were attached to the scaffolding. The exhibition in public space was free of charge and barrier-free. The photographs were supplemented with informative accompanying texts and graphics on tissue donation and milestones in tissue medicine in Germany. »Experience Tissue Donation« is the largest educational project on tissue donation in Germany to date.
