Established in 2011 as a foundation in response to the growing need for human tissues for a transplant in public hospital in Treviso, today the FBTV is one of the leading tissue banks in Italy for the:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>procurement, preservation and distribution of human tissue such as cardiac homografts, vascular segments, amniotic membrane and osteo-tendon tissue, adipose tissue;<\/li>\n<li>raising public awareness of the high moral value of tissue donation for implantation purposes promoting research and studies in the field of surgery and transplantation\/implantation, also in cooperation with University Institutes and with healthcare companies;<\/li>\n<li>stimulating the research and new application possibilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certified by the Italian National Transplants Centre and by Certiquality (Quality Management System conforms to the ISO 9001:2008 standard), the activities of FBTV are focused towards increasing public awareness about the importance of tissue donation and providing surgeons with human tissue for transplantation in accordance with the highest international standards of quality and safety. It has the authority for ordinary and extraordinary administration. In particular, it provides all management actions necessary to guarantee the functioning and efficiency of the structure and systems, adopts a research plan proposed by the Director on the basis of the economic and financial situation as well as any regulatory changes and scientific progress. Another important role is to approve the budgets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Martin B\u00f6rgel was chosen as a personality known for his activity and commitment in the field of promotion and support of the tissue banking field.
