Heart Valve Bank Kiel

The heart valve bank in Kiel is a tissue bank owned by the DGFG. Cardiovascular tissues, i.e. heart valves and blood vessels, are processed here. After processing, the tissue grafts are cryopreserved. They could be stored for up to five years, but the demand is so high that they are promptly transferred to patients in need throughout Germany.
